ViDA 2021 information for poster presenters
Gathertown
The main meeting will take place on zoom and the poster session will be online and on the Gather.town platform. ViDA 2021 Gather.town will be open to the public on Monday June 21, 2021 9am PST through Saturday June 26, 2021 9pm PST. During this time attendees can walk in the poster lounge and browse posters or interact with each other. ViDA requires the poster presenters to participate in at least one ‘live’ session during the conference, in which they will be standing by their posters and available to talk to the audience. We will release your assigned session by June 20 2021. We highly recommend the presenters to familiarize themselves with the gathertown environment a day before their presentation.
Preparing your posters
To present your poster you need to prepare two poster files: a main file and a thumbnail.
The main file should be in png format, no larger than 5MB and with dimensions of at least (1500Wx600H pixels). This file is what your audience will see on their screen when they stand in your poster's private space. Your audience will be able to zoom (to some extent) and view the poster but you do not want to overload the poster with lots of information, after all it is not your classical poster. You will be able to share your screen when presenting your poster. So you can decide to show slides to your audience if that helps better communicate your point or as a backup.
